Have you ever been told when you sign up with a new insurance company that you had Non-Standard insurance. If you have been told this did your new insurance agent explain what this means?
Most insurance companies have a Non-Standard Company and a Standard Company and if you have a Non-standard Company your rate for insurance could be increased up to 30% more than a Standard Company. Call your insurance company ask them what company you are in? If you are with a Non-standard Insurance Company call them and ask to put you in there Standard Insurance Company. If you came to Huggins Family Insurance and had a clean driving record and had prior Standard insurance for more than a year without a lapse you could be put in our Standard Insurance Company. But if you were with a Non-Standard Insurance Company you would not qualify for our Standard Company. Your rate would go through the roof and you would probably have to stay with your old company, I have seen customers with a great driving record and had prior Standard insurance for years and have been put into a Non-Standard Insurance Company. Make sure when you get insurance that you ask questions regarding the insurance you are getting, if you go to a broker or go on the internet for insurance you will most likely be put in a Non-Standard Insurance Company because they are going to put you in the cheapest company possible. If you just left a Standard Insurance Company for this Non-Standard Insurance Company you will have a tough time getting back to a Standard Insurance Company because you will not qualify for that company anymore.
