Yesterday I had a client accidently lock their keys in the car. Not a panic situation but it was for her it was because her child was inside the car with the keys.
Her first thought was not to call a locksmith…but to call me, her local Las Vegas insurance agent. Why did she call me first – she knew …
- She had emergency roadside service as part of her auto policy and I could help her immediately find a locksmith
- I would immediately answer the phone and be of service to her
- My number was readily available to her because she not only has my office and cell phone number programmed into her cell phone, she had the information in her car
What did I do to help my client:
- Called a locksmith that was close to her location to assist her. Upon speaking with the locksmith I find out that the response would be faster if she were to call Las Vegas Metro to help her open her car
- Metro was called and immediately reached her location and unlocked the doors (and they did not charge her a fee since it was an “emergency situation.”)
- After enough time had passed to have the car unlocked and for her to calm down from the situation, I called my client to check to see if everything went okay and if she needed further help from me.
My client was so happy that I helped her out that all she could say was “thank you” over and over again.
This makes me feel great because today I was able to once again perform personal attention to my clients and know that I was able to help them when they needed me the most. This is the type of service you get with a “family insurance company” and you will not get this level of care from a 1-800 insurance company.
